Context

HireQuotient operates in a competitive space where the ability to attract the right customers — and understand how they find you — is as important as the product itself. The team knew this, which is why they'd adopted GA4. The problem was that the adoption hadn't gone well. The setup was flawed, the data coming out of it couldn't be trusted, and without in-house expertise to diagnose or fix the issues, the team was making campaign and planning decisions on reporting they knew was inaccurate. That's a precarious position for a growth-stage company to be in. RevX came in to rebuild the GA4 foundation from the ground up and give HireQuotient reporting it could actually rely on.

The challenge

HireQuotient's challenge wasn't that they lacked ambition around data — it was that the technical infrastructure needed to deliver on that ambition had never been set up correctly. A misconfigured analytics platform doesn't just produce bad numbers; it erodes confidence in every decision that flows from them.

A GA4 instance that was broken from the start

The existing GA4 setup had fundamental flaws that undermined its usefulness from day one. Without a correct configuration, data collection was inconsistent, events weren't firing as expected, and the platform wasn't capturing the user behavior signals that matter most for a SaaS business trying to understand how prospects move through its site. Having the tool installed and having it work are two very different things — HireQuotient had the former without the latter.

No internal expertise to fix it

The absence of GA4 specialists on the team meant the problems weren't just unresolved — they were undiagnosed. The team knew something was off, but lacked the technical depth to identify exactly where the setup had gone wrong or how to correct it. That knowledge gap created a dependency on flawed data that was difficult to break without outside help.

Reporting that nobody trusted

The downstream consequence of a broken setup was attribution data that the team couldn't rely on. Campaign performance tracking was inaccurate. User behavior wasn't being captured correctly. When the reports can't be trusted, planning suffers — because every decision about where to invest, what campaigns to scale, and what to cut is being made on a foundation that might not reflect reality.

Our solution

RevX approached this as a rebuild, not a patch. Rather than trying to salvage the existing configuration, the team started with a detailed planning exercise to understand what HireQuotient needed from GA4 before touching a single setting.

Detailed planning before any configuration
RevX began with a thorough planning phase — mapping HireQuotient's business needs to the specific data points, events, and reporting structures GA4 would need to capture. This upfront work meant the setup that followed was deliberate and purposeful rather than a generic implementation that would need reworking. The plan shaped everything that came after.

Custom events, conversion tracking, and proper GTM setup.

RevX configured custom events and conversions tailored to HireQuotient's specific user journeys, and ensured all GA4 tags were properly implemented through Google Tag Manager. This is where the accuracy problem gets solved at its source — when the right events are firing in the right contexts, the data flowing into reports reflects what's actually happening on the site, not a distorted approximation of it.

Business-specific dashboards built on clean data

With the GA4 instance properly configured, RevX built out dashboards designed around HireQuotient's actual reporting needs. Rather than defaulting to GA4's out-of-the-box reports, the dashboards were structured to surface the insights most relevant to the team's campaign planning and performance monitoring — giving leadership a clear, reliable view of the metrics that mattered.

The impact

Getting GA4 right changed how HireQuotient's team operated. Decisions that had previously been made on uncertain data could now be made with confidence — and the structured attribution system built as part of the engagement gave the team visibility they simply hadn't had before.

A properly configured GA4 that actually works

With the flawed setup replaced by a deliberate, well-planned implementation, HireQuotient's GA4 instance became a genuine asset. Reporting runs on time and without errors. The team no longer has to second-guess whether the numbers in front of them reflect reality — they do, and that changes everything about how the data gets used.

Attribution that reveals the full picture

The structured attribution system built by RevX gave HireQuotient meaningful visibility into how users were discovering and engaging with the product. Understanding which channels and campaigns were actually driving conversions — rather than guessing — gave the marketing team a basis for smarter budget allocation and more targeted campaign planning.

Accurate user journey tracking, end to end

Custom events and conversion setups now track the complete user journey through HireQuotient's site, from first visit through to meaningful action. That level of tracking detail isn't just useful for reporting — it's the foundation for the kind of iterative, data-driven optimization that separates companies that grow intentionally from those that grow by accident.
