Context

Guidepoint Security's business is built on precision — helping clients find exactly the right cybersecurity fit for their environment. Their marketing operation needed to reflect that same standard. The team was running multiple campaigns through Marketo, but the templates they had weren't built for flexibility. Every campaign variation meant rebuilding from scratch or patching together something that wasn't quite right. What Guidepoint needed wasn't more templates — it was smarter ones. A single master email template and three landing page templates, each capable of adapting to whatever a campaign required without breaking or requiring developer intervention. RevX was brought in to build exactly that.

The challenge

The core tension was one that many marketing teams face but rarely articulate clearly: the tools were there, but the infrastructure built on top of them couldn't move at the speed the business needed. Templates that couldn't flex meant campaigns that took longer to launch and teams that spent time on execution instead of strategy.

Off-the-shelf templates that couldn't serve multiple campaigns

Guidepoint's existing Marketo templates weren't designed with reusability in mind. When campaign requirements shifted — a different CTA, a new content block, a different visual layout — the team had no way to accommodate those changes without significant manual effort or rebuilding the template entirely. The result was a bottleneck that slowed every new campaign before it even started.

No way to selectively show or hide content

Different campaigns call for different components. A webinar invite needs a form; a nurture email doesn't. A landing page for one audience might need a sponsor section that another doesn't. Without the ability to toggle modules on and off within a single template, Guidepoint had to maintain separate versions for different use cases — a fragile, time-consuming approach that scaled poorly as campaign volume grew.

Templates not built for the full range of devices
Cybersecurity buyers aren't chained to their desks. Content gets opened on phones, tablets, and laptops — and a template that looks sharp on desktop but breaks on mobile isn't just an aesthetic problem; it's a conversion problem. Guidepoint's templates lacked the mobile optimization needed to deliver a consistent experience across the devices their audience was actually using.

Our solution

RevX built a modular template system designed around one principle: the marketing team should be able to configure any campaign asset they need without touching code. Every feature added served that goal — giving the team control, flexibility, and confidence at the point of execution.

Custom email and landing page templates with editable content
RevX created a master email template and three landing page templates in Marketo, each built with fully editable text and image fields. On top of that, variables were introduced to allow non-technical users to adjust text color, background color, background image URLs, button links, and spacing — the kinds of details that make a template feel tailored to a campaign rather than generic.

Hide/show toggle functionality across all modules

The most significant capability built into the templates was the ability to show or hide any individual module — or specific elements within a module, like a CTA button or a form — without duplicating the template or editing HTML. This meant one template could serve a broad awareness campaign and a targeted conversion play, simply by toggling the right sections on or off depending on what each campaign needed.

Drag-and-drop sections and full mobile optimization

To make the email templates faster to assemble, RevX introduced drag-and-drop section functionality, allowing the team to reorder content blocks intuitively. Every template was also built with mobile optimization as a standard — not an afterthought — ensuring that whatever the campaign, the experience held up cleanly across every device it landed on.

The impact

The templates transformed how Guidepoint's team executes campaigns in Marketo. What had required rebuilding or workarounds now happens within a single, purpose-built system — and the team is in control of it.

One template, many campaigns

Guidepoint can now run multiple distinct campaigns from a single master email template, customizing it to fit each use case without starting from zero. The time previously spent on template creation and maintenance gets redirected to the work that actually moves campaigns forward — content, targeting, and strategy.

Full control over landing page content

The new landing page templates give the team the ability to choose exactly what content and which modules to display for each campaign. Want to feature a sponsor section for one event and remove it for the next? Done — without a developer, without a workaround, without delay. That level of autonomy changes the pace at which campaigns can be conceived and launched.

Campaign-specific presentation without campaign-specific templates

The hide/show functionality is where the real efficiency lives. Guidepoint's team can now surface only the sections relevant to a given campaign — keeping messaging focused, pages uncluttered, and execution fast. It's a small capability with an outsized impact: the same template infrastructure serves every campaign, while each campaign still feels purpose-built for its audience.
